Looks like iPhone 17 Slim is definitely going to be the slimmest iPhone ever made, as it is rumored to be just 6mm thick.
Analyst Says Apple’s iPhone 17 Slim, Set for Release Next Year, is Going to be Just 6mm Thick, Making it the Thinnest iPhone Ever
Apple is rumored to launch a very ‘slim’ version of the iPhone that is set to launch alongside the iPhone 17 lineup. Some call it the iPhone 17 Slim, while some call it the iPhone 17 Air.
Whatever the device ends up being called, it’s going to be a thin one.
According to a research note obtained by MacRumors, analyst Jeff Pu says that the upcoming iPhone 17 Slim is definitely going to be a thin phone, and the recent rumors are all true.
The iPhone 17 Slim is going to be around 6mm thick. This easily makes it the thinnest iPhone Apple will ever make.
The report mentions a really good point – the iPhone 17 Slim is going to be the thinnest iPhone ever, not the thinnest Apple product. In case you’re wondering, the M4 iPad Pro is the thinnest device Apple has ever made.
It’s crazy thin at just 5.1mm.
The iPhone 17 Slim may not be that thin due to components that cannot be shrunken down too much. The one thing that is holding Apple back is the battery. It’s as thin as it gets currently.
But, with technology changing at a rapid pace, who knows Apple might just get its way and manage to make the new iPhone even thinner.
But again, that’s only if the technology manages to be in Apple’s favor.
iPhone 17 Slim will likely feature the A19 chip, a display that’s around 6.6 inches in size, a single camera at the back for photos and videos, and 8GB of RAM.
It’s high time everyone admits that the iPhone really has gotten boring in terms of design. Usually, whenever that happens, Apple tends to surprise us with something different.
The iPhone 17 Slim is definitely going to be that device.
Though rumors say that the thinner iPhone may not be big on features, it will be a huge leap forward in design, and I’m all for that.
More iPhone 17 Details Emerge
The same analyst shared details regarding the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro, as well as saying that these phones will utilize the A19 and A19 Pro chips, respectively.
The interesting thing here is that the chips will be based on TSMC’s third-generation process, also known as N3P. This means the manufacturer can fit more transistors in a smaller area, allowing for more processing power and efficiency.
Another thing of note is how Apple may reduce the size of the Dynamic Island, but this change will be limited to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, most likely.
