Latest Threads for iPhone Update Adds Support for Viewing Videos in Landscape Mode
Threads supports uploading and viewing videos since day one. However, you were only able to watch videos in portrait mode.
If you have the latest version of Threads installed on your iPhone, you can now watch videos in landscape mode, the way it should be.
As someone who uploads videos on Threads on a regular basis, I’m really excited about this change. I don’t have to upload videos in portrait only now, and doors to 4:3 and square formats are now wide open for me.
Given how closely integrated Threads is with Instagram, the one thing I would love to see is the video editor from Instagram in Threads. But I’m sure Meta plans to keep such a feature exclusive to Instagram.
Though adding support for landscape video feels like a small step, these are the kind of things that make or break a social network. Features like these give creators and users a ton of flexibility when uploading content.
