Apple has just released watchOS 11.2 final update and you can download it right now on your Apple Watch.
watchOS 11.2 Final Now Available for Download with Ability to Pause iPhone Video Using Camera Remote App and More
Compared to iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and even macOS 15.2, the latest update for Apple Watch may not look that exciting.
However, there is a feature that may excite you, especially if you use your Apple Watch as a camera remote for your iPhone. Because you can now pause video recording using your Apple Watch’s Camera Remote app and resume it whenever you feel like it.
Pausing video using the Camera app was released as part of the iOS 18.1 update for iPhone, and I’m glad it’s now available on Apple Watch as well.
These are all the new features that ship as part of watchOS 11.2:
- Tides app expands map support for tidal conditions and coastal locations in China
- Camera Remote app can pause recording of iPhone video
In order to download and install watchOS 11.2 on your Apple Watch right now, just follow these steps:
- Place your Apple Watch on its charger.
- Make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi.
- Launch the ‘Watch’ app on your iPhone.
- Now go to General > Software Update.
- Tap on ‘Update Now’ to begin installation.
The entire installation process is going to take a while, and I recommend grabbing your favorite beverage before you can finally start using your Apple Watch.
Once the installation is complete I recommend leaving your Apple Watch on charge for about an hour or slightly less. This will give the software time to ‘settle in.’
But, if you really want to head out, then taking the Apple Watch off the charger is absolutely fine too.
If you have already downloaded and installed watchOS 11.2 RC on your Apple Watch, then you don’t have to do anything at all. This is the same update that was released for developers and public beta testers last week.
