Apple is apparently working on a folding iPad that unfolds into an even bigger iPad and hoping to launch it in 2028.

Apple’s Folding iPad is Going to be Massive at 20-inches When Unfolded, Might See the Light of Day in 2028

News of Apple working on a foldable has been flying around for quite a while. Today, a new report from Bloomberg, says that we might just see a giant folding iPad in 2028.

The most interesting thing is how this rumored iPad unfolds and turns into a massive 20-inch display, which is as big as two iPads side by side, according to the report.

For me, the 13-inch iPad is already too big, and taking it all the way to 20 is definitely overkill. It will be interesting to see how Apple plans to market this, if it ever becomes a reality.

The device is currently in its prototype stage, and Apple is hoping for another thing which no one else has achieved so far – a folding device without a crease in the middle.

It’s believed that the current prototype has a near-invisible crease, but Apple plans to get rid of it completely. Given the amount of technological progress we will see going up to 2028, Cupertino might just be able to get rid of the crease completely.

Another question I have is this: will this device run iPadOS? macOS? Or a brand-new operating system which is a hybrid of both?

If previous reports are to be believed, it seems as though this is going to be a device that may just sit in between the iPad and MacBook. Just a wild guess, nothing else.
