iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 2 for iPhone and iPad is now available for download. Here’s how to get it now.
Apple Seeds Beta 2 of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 to Developers, Download Now on Your iPhone and iPad Over the Air
Apple released the first beta of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 to developers on the 10th of June, right after the opening WWDC 2024 keynote. As usual, the beta was welcomed with arms wide open and was packed with great features as well as eyebrow-raising bugs.
Today, beta 2 of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 has been released for developers with several changes and fixes. If you’ve been testing out the software on your iPhone and iPad, it’s best to go ahead and download the update right away to make things slightly stable. It’s more important to download the update if you’re a developer and have been testing out your apps.
In order to download the latest beta 2 from Apple, first you have to make sure you have ample amount of storage. It’s best to free up at least 10GB before going ahead. Once that is clear, you need to have 50% or more battery life in order to install the update. I will simply recommend placing your iPhone and iPad on charge during the whole installation process.
To download the new update, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update. As soon as iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 2 becomes available, tap on ‘Update Now.’ The whole thing may take several tries since a lot of people are going to be upgrading at the same time. If, for some reason, the download fails, just try again after 15 minutes or so.
If there are major changes in this update, I will cover them separately. For now, the promised iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay Screen Sharing features have been enabled in this released. If you have macOS Sequoia, you can take the former for a spin right away.
