The signing status of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 has changed, and downgrade is no longer possible from iOS 18.2.1 and iPadOS 18.2.1.

Apple Stops Signing iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, Downgrade from iOS 18.2.1 and iPadOS 18.2.1 No Longer Possible

Apple is no longer signing iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 updates for iPhone and iPad devices. This is completely normal and to be expected when a newer firmware becomes available.

The latest update available from Apple is iOS 18.2.1 and iPadOS 18.2.1. It’s a bug-fix release that is highly recommended for all users. But for some reason, you were looking to downgrade; you can no longer do that.

iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 are huge updates in terms of features; however, they’re packed with a lot of bugs too. Just add an emoji or two with the Magic Keyboard connected to the iPad, and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Rather than encouraging you to stick with iOS 18.2 or iPadOS 18.2, I will request you to update to the latest update instead. It really improves battery life and fixes a handful of bugs.

Currently, Apple is working on iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3. Though the version number will make it sound like a huge deal, it is just a bug-fix update only. However, iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 are on their way as well, and that will add a ton of improvements to Siri.

Though that update won’t bring Siri close to the capabilities of ChatGPT, it will still be a massive update compared to what we have right now.

iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 are set for release later this month, whereas iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 will become available around April, most likely. We can expect the first beta of 18.4 to be available immediately after 18.3 is released to the public.
