It’s like an unofficial announcement before the actual announcement, and it has ruined the charm of Apple products.
Apple Announcements Used to be Fun Until the Leaks Came Along to Take Away the Fun
The original iPhone and iPad announcements caught people off guard. Sure, many people knew ‘something’ was coming, but no one got it quite right.
At one point, everyone was convinced Apple was going to announce the ‘iSlate.’ Remember that?
We just dipped our toes in 2025, and we already know what the iPhone 17 will bring. Heck, we even have details regarding the iPhone 18.
When the actual announcements hit, rather than enjoying what Apple has to say, we end up playing bingo with what the leaks got right or wrong.
I miss the time when Apple, or any other company, would walk on stage, announce a product, and it would be an entirely new thing and we would have zero prior knowledge about it.
Going forward, these leaks are not going to stop. In fact, some companies just leak their own products to hype things up.
I miss the old days.
