Unlike what was previously rumored, the upcoming 2025 iPad Air refresh will have the M3 chip inside, not the M4.

Latest Leak Says the 2025 iPad Air will Have the M3 Chip Inside Instead of the M4

According to the latest information floating around the internet, the next iPad Air will be announced this spring. The tablet is said to feature the M4 chip.

However, according to a very solid leak, that might not be the case.

The table may definitely be launching this spring, but it will most likely be powered by the M3 chip, not the M4, as previously rumored.

The latest comes from the ever-reliable Evan Blass, more commonly known as Evleaks.

He was able to grab hold of a document that shows references to the upcoming iPad Air with the M3 chip. And given the track record, I believe this one more than the last.

However, this also confirms one thing – Apple is working to keep the iPad Air lineup one step behind the iPad Pro when it comes to power.

When you spend that $999, you get access to the latest chip, a faster and brighter display, and so much more. iPad Air gets the same things done, but with a little less power, frame rate, and brightness.

Honestly, that’s not a bad deal at all. Even the M2 iPad Air is a solid purchase in 2025. It has everything you need for the full iPadOS and Apple Intelligence experience. You miss out on nothing at all.

Spring is almost here, and we’ll know soon what Apple has in store for us.
