Meta has just announced that you will be able to share your WhatsApp Status on your Instagram and Facebook accounts.

New Update from Meta Lets You Share Your WhatsApp Status to Instagram and Facebook Automatically

Till this moment, WhatsApp has been a completely separate app from Facebook and Instagram. This means whatever you post as a Status on WhatsApp, it has nothing to do with the rest of the services and vice versa.

Today, Meta is changing that by allowing users to add their WhatsApp account to Accounts Center. Once you do that, you can cross-post your Status across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.

Do keep in mind that this feature is not enabled by default and you have to go to Accounts Center to link WhatsApp account to it. Meta wants to focus on privacy first here.

Once the account is linked from Accounts Center, whenever you share your Status on WhatsApp, it will be automatically shared to your Instagram and Facebook profiles as well.

You can even choose if the Status goes on just Instagram or Facebook.

The support for Accounts Center is going to take a few months to completely roll out.

While these are great features, the one thing I’m more interested in is a WhatsApp for iPad app, something that has been rumored for a long time at this point.

What’s even more important is an Instagram for iPad app, and that too is nowhere to be found.
