Create Your Own Emoji with Genmoji on the Mac with macOS 15.3 Sequoia, Download it Today
Apple’s AI rollout has been slightly inconsistent lately. Because if you look at the Mac, it had one feature missing that was available on iPhone and iPad – Genmoji.
Thankfully, that changes today with the release of macOS 15.3 Sequoia. You can download the update now, and it will install the Genmoji app on your Mac as well, as long as it supports Apple Intelligence.
Here’s everything new in this update:
• Genmoji creation in Messages and other apps
• Calculator repeats the last mathematical operation when you click the equals sign again
• Easily manage settings for notification summaries from the Lock Screen (Mac with Apple silicon)
• Updated style for summarized notifications better distinguishes them from other notifications by using italicized text as well as the glyph (Mac with Apple silicon)
• Notification summaries for News & Entertainment apps are temporarily unavailable, and users who opt-in will see them again when the feature becomes available (Mac with Apple silicon)
In order to download and install macOS 15.3 Sequoia on your Mac, all you have to do is launch the System Settings app, click on General, click on Software Update, and then wait for the update to show up.
You can install the update right away, or have it install overnight. It’s entirely up to you. But if you’ve been waiting for Genmoji all this time, then you already know what you’re about to do.
Apart from Genmoji, macOS 15.3 includes a bunch of bug fixes and improvements. However, there’s a small change in Notification Summaries as well – it is temporarily unavailable for news and entertainment apps.
Once Apple has figured out how to improve the summaries of these categories of apps, it will re-enable the feature in the future. For now, you’re about to read these notifications in their entirety going forward.
Last but not least, the update also includes a brand new Unity Rhythm wallpaper for the Mac.
If you’re feeling lazy, you can click on this link to go straight to Mac App Store in order to download the latest macOS Sequoia update.
Please do keep in mind this is not the last update for the Mac. Apple is releasing this year. We still have macOS 15.4 to look forward to, which will be released very soon.
Reports suggest Apple is going to release the update sometime in April; therefore, it’s safe to assume the first beta will arrive within a couple of weeks.
Once that is released, we can look forward to the next big thing – macOS 16. This is the update that will hopefully take Apple Intelligence to the next level with a far more improved Siri and a host of new features.
macOS 16 is pretty far from release, and it’s best you put all your energy into updating your Mac to the latest macOS 15.3 Sequoia release instead.
