Today is a great day for software. Apple has not only released iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3, but went ahead and updated the HomePod software to version 18.3 as well.
If you’re hoping for new features, you won’t find them here, but you will find bug fixes and stability-related improvements.
I’m sure you already know how HomePod software updates work; they install automatically in the background.
But if you do want to install it right now, here’s what you need to do:
Step 1. Launch the Home app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Step 2. Tap or click on the three dots icon on the top right hand corner.
Step 3. Now open Home Settings.
Step 4. Scroll down a little and you’ll find Software Update.
Step 5. When the update shows up, you can install it immediately.
Do keep in mind these software updates are absolutely necessary to have, especially if your HomePod functions as a Home hub for your smart home setup.
