Starlink connectivity is currently in beta for iPhone users, and anyone can sign up for it for free until July.
Anyone Can Sign up for Starlink Connectivity for iPhone in the United States Absolutely Free
T-Mobile announced that it is bringing Starlink connectivity to its users, allowing them to send SMS or iMessage from the middle of nowhere.
The service is currently in beta, and right now, anyone can sign up for it, even if you are not using T-Mobile. Make sure you head over to this link for more details.
There are few things you should know.
First of all, you must have an iPhone that is compatible with Starlink. Anything from an iPhone 14 all the way to the latest iPhone 16 will work just fine.
Secondly, you must have iOS 18.3 installed on your iPhone, which enables Starlink support on your device.
Lastly, and a super obvious one, support for Starlink on iPhone is only available in the United States and the slots are extremely limited in beta.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the slots are full by the time you read this.
Those are the important things you should know about before considering signing up for the service. However, do keep in mind that T-Mobile users with a Go5G plan will get access to satellite connectivity at no additional cost.
Everyone else will have to pay $15, while non-T-Mobile users have to pay $20 a month once the service is no longer in beta.
At the time of writing, support is just limited to sending and receiving SMS and iMessage. There’s no support for using the internet via satellite.
But given how fast this thing is progressing, I wouldn’t be surprised if data support is enabled in the near future.
