After receiving necessary regulatory approvals, Apple’s acquisition of Pixelmator is now complete.

Pixelmator Confirms Completion of Apple’s Acquisition with Official Announcement Through its Apps on iPhone, iPad and Mac

November turned out to be an interesting month as Pixelmator suddenly announced that it is being acquired by Apple. As someone who uses Pixelmator day in, day out, it was an exciting moment for me.

However, the announcement from back in November was nothing more than an announcement because it still had to go under necessary approvals before anything could be finalized.

But today, everything is complete and the Pixelmator is now officially a part of Apple.

If you have any Pixelmator app installed (and why wouldn’t you?) on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, then download the latest update from the App Store, and you’ll see a splash screen announcing the completion of the acquisition.

It’s unclear what the future of Pixelmator is going to be like going forward. Whether Apple is going to rebrand the app, take things away, change pricing, add or remove features, etc.

Whatever happens, I’m definitely excited about it.
