A new leak suggests that Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max smartphone may feature a smaller Dynamic Island compared to other models in the lineup.
Apple Set to Use Metalens Technology to Shrink Size of Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17 Pro Max
The world of leaks is having a tough time deciding the size of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17. A recent report suggested that there will be no change at all.
But, a new leak from Weibo with a good track record says that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a smaller Dynamic Island as Apple is set to use metalens technology.
If you were hoping to get some sort of advantage when buying the 17 Pro Max, you’re definitely getting it this year. That is not the case between the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max – you only get a larger battery with the latter.
While a smaller Dynamic Island is great news, it’s still a cutout on the top of the display that cannot be ignored. No matter how much you pretend it’s not there, it just is.
Apple has done a way better job at making the cutout as useful as possible, but once you start scrolling or watch a video in landscape, it ruins the fun.
Maybe, just maybe, there will come a point when technology is so good that Apple is able to hide all Face ID components under the display instead. And that is going to be a huge selling point for potential buyers.
