The only third-party AI service supported by Apple is ChatGPT. But it seems as though Google Gemini will be offered as an option too.
Backend Code Shows Apple is Working on Google Gemini Integration with Apple Intelligence
According to backend Apple code, as discovered by Aaron Perris on X, the company is working to bring Google Gemini support to Apple Intelligence.
What this means is, you will be able to refer to Gemini for answers, rather than just ChatGPT.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Gemini will be able to take over ChatGPT for generating text in places like Writing Tools as well. I’m guessing that it would.
While this is great news, more choice is always better, but do keep in mind there’s no telling when this integration will actually see the light of day.
It’s likely not coming with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, or macOS 15.4 in April; otherwise, Apple would have mentioned it. Secondly, there’s a chance it may show itself in a future iOS, iPadOS, or macOS update.
I’m only going to assume that this will likely be a part of iOS 19 and macOS 16. Apple is likely laying down the groundwork for it now, ensuring a smoother rollout in the near future.
