Apple is rumored to launch a foldable device in 2026, and apparently, it won’t have any visible display crease at all.

The Foldable iPhone Won’t Have a Visible Display Crease for a Seamless Experience

At this point, everyone has accepted the crease in a foldable device, including the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the newly launched Oppo N5, and so on.

Companies have been able to minimize the effect of the crease, but it’s always there. You can feel it under your finger, and any amount of light makes it visible too.

However, rumor has it that Apple is planning to launch a foldable iPhone in 2026. The thing that makes this device special is that it will have no visible crease at all, and Apple wants to completely get rid of it before shipping out the product, according to ET News.

The report also says that Apple is going to source its panels from Samsung Display, while the display hinge will be supplied by Amphenol.

While I do appreciate Apple’s effort to ship a display that does not have a crease, my opinion about foldable devices still stands as it was 2 minutes ago. I’m not sure how foldable devices solve any problem at all.

Please do keep in mind that this opinion is highly subjective, and I do not speak for anyone else as I type this.

On paper, an iPhone turning into an iPad mini sounds nice. But in the real world, many users end up using the external display on their foldable more than the internal one.

The fact that people aren’t using the internal display enough is the new problem itself.

Will Apple be able to solve a problem that is intentionally created? Looks like 2026 has our answers.
