I’m sure you already know that Google has removed Gemini from the search app on iPhone. It now lives in a dedicated app on its own.
With this migration, Google is now able to develop far better experiences on iPhones when it comes to its own AI.
In a recent update to the Gemini app, Google has introduced a bunch of widgets which you can add to your iPhone Lock Screen.
What this means is, you can add all your favorite Gemini features on the Lock Screen and access them with a single tap. No need to unlock your phone just to get to the app.
Here’s how to set it up:
Step 1. First of all, you must download and install the Gemini app on your iPhone and sign in using your Google Account.
Step 2. Go to your Lock Screen.
Step 3. Tap and hold on the Lock Screen until you see Customize at the bottom. Tap on Customize.
Step 4. Now tap on Lock Screen.
Step 5. Tap on Add Widgets underneath the clock.
Step 6. Scroll down a little and find Gemini. Tap on it to open.
Step 7. You’ll see a bunch of widgets here. Add the ones you want on the Lock Screen. Type Prompt and Talk Live are great starting points. There’s enough space to add all your favorite Gemini widgets on the Lock Screen.
Step 8. Tap on the (x) button to confirm your changes.
Just lock your iPhone, wake it up, and tap on one of the widgets you just added. Just like clockwork, your iPhone will fire up Gemini, all set to tackle things with AI.
