Running into Issues with your iPhone 16e? Learn How to Force Restart it or Perform a Shut Down Whenever Needed

iPhones and iPads aren’t easy to restart or shut down. Mainly because Apple wants you to track it all the time using Find My in case someone gets the idea of taking away your phone without permission.

However, there will come a time when you may want to perform a force restart or shut down the iPhone 16e. Because, your phone became unresponsive or you’re in a bad service area and want to save battery life.

Whatever the case might be, I’ll show you how to force restart and shut down your iPhone 16e in a few easy-to-understand steps.

Force Restart

This comes in handy when your iPhone becomes completely unresponsive and you want to quickly, or forcefully restart it. Here’s what you have to do:

Step 1. Press the Volume Up button and let go.

Step 2. Press the Volume Down button and let go.

Step 3. Press and hold the Power button on the right and keep on holding until the screen turns off and see the Apple logo.

Step 4. Let go of the Power button at the Apple logo.

Just let your iPhone 16e reboot, and you’ll be at the Lock Screen in no time.

Shut Down

There are two ways to power down your iPhone 16e, and I’ll walk you through both.

Step 1. Press the Volume Up button and let go.

Step 2. Press the Volume Down button and let go.

Step 3. Press and hold the Power button on the right until you see the ‘Slide to power off’ slider at the top. When you’re at this screen, let go of the Power button.

Step 4. Simply slide to power off.

The second method is extremely straightforward, and all you have to do is launch the Settings app, go to General, scroll all the way down, and then tap on Shut Down. Now simply slide to power off the device.

I highly recommend that you learn both methods to shut down your iPhone. Sometimes you want to perform things urgently, and the key combo method is the quickest there is.
