One leaker says that Apple’s foldable iPad has an under-display Face ID sensor for authentication and unlocking.
Apple’s Massive Folding iPad Will Feature an Under-Display Face ID Sensor for a Seamless Display Experience
We’ve been hearing about the folding iPhone for quite some time now. In fact, it was just a few days ago that we got wind of a report that said Apple’s folding iPhone is going to be packed with features and be very expensive at the same time.
It’s going to cost anything between $2,000 and $2,500.
In the same report, Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple is going to utilize a Touch ID sensor in its folding iPhone instead of Face ID. The reason for that is pretty simple: the lack of space in such a thin form factor.
Digital Chat Station, a prominent leaker, has just revealed on Weibo that Apple is working on a folding iPad, and that device, in its prototype stage, has an under-display Face ID sensor.
The folding iPad in question is massive in size – 18.8 inches when opened completely. The size is pretty close to a previous rumor that said it will be close to 20 inches.
It’s been rumored for quite some time that Apple’s folding iPad will be released somewhere between the 2027-2028 time frame.
Another thing that will make these folding devices stand out from the rest is the lack of a display crease, giving the impression that the display is absolutely seamless and it does not fold from anywhere at all.
As we move closer to the actual launch of the device, I’m sure we will keep on hearing more stuff about the folding iPad, so stay tuned.
