The leak does say Apple is not going to use the vapor chamber cooling system in the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. It will be exclusive to the Pro models.
It seems like the A19 Pro chip is set to go big on performance, and a vapor chamber cooling system is necessary to maintain that output.
This is the first time Apple is going to use vapor chamber cooling in its devices. And I can only assume this method will reach other devices in the future for better sustained performance.
The one place users will find such a thing useful is gaming, where high temperature may cause poor performance and dropped frames.
It will definitely help generative AI features as well, such as Image Playground, allowing the iPhone to stay cool while you type away those prompts.
Do keep in mind that a vapor chamber cooling system requires more space inside the iPhone. This could be one of the reasons why the iPhone 17 Pro Max is set to get thicker this year.
But, that is not a bad thing. A previous report did say Apple is set to use a bigger battery inside the larger iPhone as well.
