This is a very interesting little story about an Apple Watch that was lost in the ocean while scuba diving and reached its owner.

Apple Watch Lost in the Ocean for 1.5 Years was Found and Sent to its Owner in California, Everything Still Works

Jared Brick went scuba diving in the Caribbean in 2022, and during one of his dives he noticed that his Apple Watch was no longer on his wrist. The Apple Watch was perfect for diving, thanks to its credentials of being able to withstand up to 50 meters of water. However, the watch was gone, something Jared wasn’t expecting to happen.

The owner of the watch put the device in Lost Mode and sent out a message with his phone number, hoping if someone did find it, they would contact him directly with the good news.

In December of last year, Jared got a call from Jonathan saying he had found his watch during a dive in the Caribbean. Jonathan saw Jared’s phone number when he powered on the watch, thanks to Find My.

The Apple Watch was sent to Jared in California and everything works flawlessly fine over a year later.

You can check out the entire video below and see how it unfolded. It’s a wonderful story of how the Apple Watch, though lost in the ocean, found its way back to the owner using Apple’s phenomenal Find My network.

Find My is one of Apple’s biggest strengths. We tend to ignore the feature until an incident occurs where we are forced to use it. Find My is extremely reliable, as you can tell from the story above.

Keep features like Find My turned on at all times, no matter which platform you’re on. It will make your life so, so easy. And you’ll always have peace of mind even if you do end up losing your device because you know you have a solid chance of finding it.
