Download and Install iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 for iPhone and iPad Today Along with Other Release Candidate Builds
We heard news yesterday that iOS 17.6 is extremely close to release. Well, the news was right, as the release candidate builds of iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 are now available for download. Whether you’re a developer or a public beta tester, you can download the updates over the air. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap on ‘Update Now’ when the new update shows up.
watchOS 10.6 release candidate has also been released. You can start the download by first charging your Apple Watch beyond 50%. Also make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi and then go to Watch > General > Software Update. Tap on ‘Update Now’ when watchOS 11 beta 4 shows up for download.
macOS Sonoma 14.6 release candidate is here, too. Initiate the download by going to System Settings > General > Software Update. Like any other macOS update, this one is massive in size and may take a while to download and install. You will be required to restart your Mac.
Last but not the least, tvOS 17.6 release candidate can be downloaded by going to Settings > System > Software Update on your Apple TV.
Given these builds were released today, it’s safe to assume the final version for everyone else will be available next week. In case you’re wondering, the release candidate is the final version, but meant for developers and testers only. Just a little more wait and you will be able to take the updates for a spin across your Apple devices.
