Public beta 2 of watchOS 11 is now available for download. If you have an Apple Watch, it’s best to install the update right away.

watchOS 11 Public Beta 2 for Apple Watch Now Available for Download with Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements

I’ve made it abundantly clear that you cannot downgrade watchOS updates – developer and public, both. Even if you installed a beta update by accident, you’re going all the way to the final build. The ride is long, but it definitely ends and there’s good news, too.

The good news is, watchOS 11 public beta 2 is out. This means you’re one step closer to the final version of watchOS 11. If you’ve been testing out watchOS 11 public beta, you can install public beta 2 today. You can do this by charging your Apple Watch more than 50%. Once that is done, launch the Watch app on your iPhone and then go to General > Software Update. Tap on ‘Update Now’ when public beta 2 becomes available.

The installation is going to take a while but it is going to be worth it as it adds a handful of stability to your Apple Watch. If you’ve been experiencing app crashes, bad battery life or any other issues, this update will hopefully fix some of those problems. I say some because public beta 2 is still beta software. We won’t see proper stability until the release candidate version is out at the end of this year. Until then, enjoy these updates.

watchOS 11 focuses a lot on health and fitness. You get a brand new Vitals app that uses different metrics to give you a holistic report on your overall health. Training Load, on the other hand, tells you how your workouts are going compared to the last few days. If something’s even slightly off, your Apple Watch will tell you about it.
