If you live in the EU, you can download and install torrent apps for your iPhone, something that is banned on the App Store.

AltStore PAL in the EU Lets You Download Torrent Apps Right on Your iPhone to Download Content

I explicitly say ‘banned’ because they’re forever banned from the App Store. However, if you turn to third-party app stores like AltStore PAL in the EU, you can download and install torrent apps such as iTorrent and qBitControl. iTorrent is a full-blown torrent client which you can use to download content. Yes, the same content you usually refer to a desktop operating system to download, but now it’s on iPhone.

Do keep in mind third-party app stores aren’t available outside the EU and it’s a very region-specific thing. If you were hoping to go to the App Store right now and start downloading torrents, you might want to look somewhere else.

Torrenting was huge on iPhone back in the day, thanks to jailbreaking. Once you jailbreak your iPhone or iPad, you could download whatever you wanted, including third-party torrent clients. With every passing software and hardware update, Apple has made it more difficult to jailbreak its devices, and for good reason. Once you jailbreak, you’re essentially gaining root access to your device. If you have access to it, someone else definitely has it as well, putting your data at risk.

Fast forward to the year 2024 and we have rules that force Apple to allow third-party app stores on iPhone and iPad. But, it goes a step further with the inclusion of torrent apps, too. Honestly, I never thought I would see this day at all. While I do believe in choice, but we all know exactly how someone is going to utilize a torrent app on the iPhone.
