Apple has just released iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 for iPhone and iPad with Apple Intelligence. You can download and install it right now.
Download and Install iOS 18.1 Beta 1 for iPhone with Apple Intelligence and Other Changes
Apple Intelligence was nowhere to be seen and suddenly a report popped up saying Apple Intelligence will be a part of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. That report also said the update will arrive this week. Today is Monday, and iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 are now available for download, if you’re a developer. That repot was definitely spot on.
Though Apple Intelligence is available in this beta, there’s a waitlist for it. You can join it by going to Settings on your iPhone and iPad once you’ve installed the 18.1 update on your iPhone and iPad. Furthermore, your device and Siri language must be set to US English, and device region must be set to United States. Apple also says that you need at least an iPhone 15 Pro to test out the AI features while wrapping things up by saying it is not currently available in EU and China.
It’s not surprising that Apple Intelligence comes with a waitlist. Apple really wants to play the safest game it can at this point, given this is the first beta with Apple’s flagship feature. Over time, Apple will start rolling it out to more and more users, and hopefully, there will be a point where a waitlist isn’t required.
I am going to dive deep into Apple Intelligence and see what it’s all about. Until then, you can go ahead and download iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta on your device and take it for a spin. There are definitely going to be other changes in this beta apart from Apple Intelligence itself.

The steps for downloading are exactly the same, except you will choose iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 by tapping on ‘Upgrade to iOS 18’ while in Settings > General > Software Update.
The iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 update is not available for devices that do not support Apple Intelligence.
