Latest survey conducted by J.D. Power reveals that consumers in the United States prefer to have Apple CarPlay in their vehicles.
Satisfaction Rate Among Drivers Way Higher when their Car has Apple CarPlay, According to a new Survey
I’m not going to dive into the specifics and will only stick with CarPlay and I’ll tell you why later on.
The survey, done by J.D. Power, shows how consumers were more satisfied with their in-car infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. To give you an idea how much, the average score was 805 out of 1,000. However, the score was higher among consumers who were using CarPlay.
How high? 840.
The data was collected from owners of 2024-model vehicles and the total sample size was 99,144 – just to give you an idea that this survey is the real deal.
The thing is, I see a lot of manufacturers doing their best to avoid CarPlay just for the sake of experience – Rivian and Tesla is one of them as I covered a few days back. I get how user-experience is extremely important, but sometimes you just offer the choice to the user and leave it to them how they go about it. If they want to use CarPlay, they’ll use it. If they don’t, they’ll stick with the manufacturer’s software. It’s simple as that.
Removing CarPlay and not even offering it as a choice is as bad as getting rid of competition just so you come out on top.
But, the survey speaks for itself – people want CarPlay in their vehicles and it has a higher satisfaction rate, too.
