All of the iPhone 17 smartphone models are rumored to feature a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, according to an Apple analyst.
iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Slim will Feature a Brand New 24-Megapixel Front-Facing Camera with Six Plastic Lens Elements
According to Apple analyst Jeff Pu via MacRumors, the iPhone 17, which is set for release next year, is said to include a brand new front-facing camera sensor with a resolution of 24-megapixel. That’s a mighty huge leap from the current iPhone 15 that features a 12-megapixel camera.
Not only the camera resolution is getting an upgrade, they will also feature six plastic lens elements compared to just five in the current iPhones. This change means we will notice a huge bump in quality whether we are shooting photos or videos.
All models of the iPhone 17 lineup are rumored to get this upgrade, including the new iPhone 17 Slim. Also, keep in mind that this isn’t the camera upgrade the iPhone 17 is said to be getting. We did come across a report a while back saying that the iPhone 17 will include a mechanical aperture for better low-light performance.
It’s surprising how far the iPhone 17 is away from launch – more than a full year – and we still have a good amount of details regarding it. If you’re looking for more details, how about the fact that the entire iPhone 17 lineup will feature 120Hz displays and not just the Pro lineup? Sounds good already.
Anyway, the iPhone 17 is pretty far away and we should turn our attention to the iPhone 16 instead which is set to launch in September of this year. From a massive battery capacity to leaked color options, we have a lot to expect this year.
