Apple TV beta testers have something to look forward to today – tvOS 18 public beta 5. The new software update brings a handful of bug fixes and improvements to the Apple TV and if you’ve been using public beta 4 for quite a while, it’s time you update to public beta 5 today.
Installing the new public beta is easy, and it works like any other software update. Go to Settings > System and then Software Update on your Apple TV and you’ll be installing tvOS 18 public beta 5 in no time. There’s nothing more to this at all.
tvOS 18 will likely go under the radar when the final version is released later this year. It’s similar to tvOS 17 in every single way unless you squint a little. But, rest assured, this update is here to keep your movie and TV show binge sessions absolutely stable and perfect. That is exactly what you should care about.
For me, software stability is always at the top of my list and everything else is just a bonus, whether it’s there or not. tvOS 18 is here to make the Apple TV an even better platform, and hopefully lay foundations for something bigger to come in the near future. Who knows, Apple might have surprise hardware for us this year, or maybe the next one.
