iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max Now Official – Here are the Features, Price and Release Date

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro are massive phones. Not just in terms of features, but in terms of display sizes. Gone are the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch days as Apple has upgraded both phones to 6.4-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes, respectively. While doing so, Apple has also reduced the bezel as much as it can to ensure these phones don’t feel uncomfortable to hold in the hand.

Rumors suggested a new color and we’re definitely getting it. The Pro lineup is available in four new finishes – Desert Titanium, Natural Titanium, a darker Black Titanium and a brighter White Titanium. The only colors that remains unchanged is Natural Titanium, everything else get a slight refresh.

Powered by the new A18 Pro chip, it is blazing fast compared to the A17 Pro and even faster than the A18 in the iPhone 16. It features 16-core Neural Engine for on-device Apple Intelligence. The 6-core CPU means it is the fastest in any smartphone and it includes 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The 6-core GPU rounds off the prowess of the A18 Pro chip.

iPhone 16 Pro features a new 48-megapixel Fusion Camera. The camera is so fast, you can capture 48-megapixel photos with zero shutter lag. There’s also a new 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera. With more pixels on the ultra-wide camera, your photos will look stunning, whether you’re shooting wide or macro.

The 5x telephoto camera is now available on the smaller iPhone 16 Pro, too. This camera features a 12-megapixel sensor. though a higher resolution sensor would have been nicer, but hey, it will still shoot stunning photos and videos.

Thanks to the powerful new image processing, Photographic Styles are here to make your photos instantly better. It’s not just a stale LUT applied to an entire image, but works smartly to apply color corrections on certain colors only. This is a huge deal, especially for someone who craves a unique look in every single photo being taken. I know I’m one of those people and I can’t wait to take this feature for a spin.

Video is getting a massive boost on the Pro lineup as well. Cinematic slow-motion allows you to shoot amazing 4K video at 120 frames per second. And if you really want to take things up a notch, you can record ProRes video in 4K 120fps as well, but you do need to connect an external drive to the iPhone for it.

Audio performance is getting an upgrade. iPhone 16 Pro includes 4 studio quality mics for true-to-life audio recordings. But that’s not all, Spatial Audio capture while video recording is also coming to the Pro lineup.

Voice Memos now lets you record in layers. Record a guitar track and then layer another track, which can be anything, on top of that. This allows you to record a proper track without using a separate app. Just imagine yourself recording a few chords and then singing on top of it later and you’ll know exactly what I’m trying to say here.

MagSafe charging gets a huge upgrade in this release. Apple is bumping the charging speeds to 25W, and this is made possible using a 30W USB-C charger. But remember, you have to buy a new charger for this. Your old one is still limited to 15W charging speeds.

iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 for the 128GB model, and iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199 for the 256GB model. Pre-orders start this Friday and the phone will be available in stores on 20th of September.

Notice something interesting here? The smaller model still starts at 128GB.
