Apple has announced the brand new AirPods 4 earbuds – two of them. Here are the features, price and release date details.
Two Brand New AirPods 4 Models Announced – Here’s Everything You Need to Know Before Buying them
Just as the rumors suggested, the AirPods 4 are available in two variants. One is the regular one and the higher-end model features active noise canceling. But, here comes the interesting part – both aren’t in-ear earphones and instead offer an open-ear fit.
One model is called the AirPods 4 and the other one is called AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancelation. Apple is keeping it super obvious for buyers, it seems.
On the design front, the AirPods have been redesigned for the best fit ever. Apple has gone with a one-size-fits-all approach and claims excellent fit no matter the type of ear. You also get a new force sensor, allowing you to accept calls, end them, control your music and more with a simple press of the stem.
Featuring a brand new audio architecture, these AirPods sound great and that’s the only thing everyone should care about when buying new AirPods. If Apple says they’re great, they must be.
Thanks to the H2 chip, the AirPods can do the fancy Siri nods and other cool features such as Voice Isolation during a call. All of these features will be a part of the AirPods Pro as well.
When it comes to gaming, Apple promises extremely low latency and amazing high quality 16-bit and 48kHz audio on the AirPods 4. Though this feature doesn’t appeal to me at all, but I’m glad to know it’s there for those who need it.
USB-C is now standard across the board. But, the AirPods 4 with ANC are the ones that get the most sauce with features like wireless charging. Apple says this is the thinnest charging case on the planet right now with wireless charging. And. you can also expect up to 30 hours of battery life from the charging case.
Now comes the interesting part though I have mentioned it several times – active noise canceling. The higher-end model does this with an open-ear fit. This is truly remarkable, really. And you even get Transparency mode to listen to everything that’s happening around you. Features like Conversation Awareness is also available on the higher-end model.
Apple is charging $129 for the base model and $179 for the active noise canceling model. You can pre-order then today and they will be available on the 20th of September.
