This is an extremely important announcement of the day – AirPods Pro can now be used as a clinical-grade hearing aid.

AirPods Pro Get a Big Software Upgrade – Can Now be Used as a Clinical-Grade Hearing Aid

During its AirPods announcement, Apple revealed that users will be able to use the AirPods Pro as a clinical-grade hearing aid. The model that makes this possible is the latest-generation AirPods Pro.

Once the new iOS 18 update is available for download next week, you can run a hearing test right from your iPhone or iPad. Once the test is run, your AirPods Pro will adjust the volume of the environment around you so that you can hear everything better. It will even make adjustments to ensure you can listen to music, videos and phone calls better, too.

The Hearing Test is scientifically validated, which means Apple is not toying around at all when it comes to this. The test, when done on your iPhone and iPad, will determine where you stand when it comes to hearing and offer you audio adjustments. Everything is done securely through the Health app, and it ensures your data stays private.

This is a truly exciting feature. Given how expensive hearing aids can be at times, you can simply opt for the AirPods Pro for the same thing. It will be interesting to see how users respond to this feature once it rolls out to everyone later.
