Whether it’s the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max, all support 45W fast charging speeds over USB-C.
Last Certification Reveals iPhone 16 Supports up to 45W of Fast Charging Speeds Using USB-C
The one thing which Apple made very clear is this – the new iPhones support 25W of fast charging using the new MagSafe Charger. What Apple didn’t talk about is how fast wired charging speeds are. In fact, it never does. It’s always something users end up discovering themselves.
The iPhone 16 is currently going through testing and certifications at the China Quality Certification Centre and it has come to everyone’s attention that all new iPhones support 45W of wired charging speeds. Just to give you an idea how fast this is – several iPhone 15 models maxed out at around 29W of charging speeds. The fact that the new iPhones can go beyond 40W is absolutely mind-boggling.
Although Apple always recommends using their 20W charging to charge an iPhone, but this time you can go beyond that and buy something that supports up to 45W of power output if you want to top up that phone as quickly as possible. Those charging speeds will definitely come in handy when you just want to pick up as much charge as possible before boarding the plane.
Though fast charging is fun and all, I will still recommend sticking to Apple’s 20W charger. It’s the safest and best way to charge up an iPhone. It doesn’t generate too much heat and is the best thing you can do for your phone in order to preserve battery health, too.
