macOS Sequoia 15.1 public beta 2 with Apple Intelligence for the Mac is now available for download and install.

macOS Sequoia 15.1 Public Beta 2 is Now Available for Download with Apple Intelligence, New Changes and Bug Fixes

Mac users enrolled in Apple’s beta program can now download and install macOS Sequoia 15.1 public beta 2. If you have been testing out public beta 1 on your Mac, here’s what you need to do in order to install the latest update:

  • Launch ‘System Settings.’ You can do it from the menu bar or launch it from the Dock if you have it there.
  • Click on ‘General,’ then click on ‘Software Update.’
  • Let this page refresh and macOS Sequoia 15.1 public beta 2 will show up. Install the update once it’s here.

macOS Sequoia 15.1 is available for every single Mac that can run macOS Sequoia 15.0. However, if you have a Mac that is not compatible with Apple Intelligence, you won’t be able to test out the new AI features at all. But that’s okay, because you still get bug fixes and other improvements that refine the overall macOS Sequoia experience.

In order to test out Apple Intelligence, having an Apple silicon Mac is a strict requirement. If you don’t have it, you will miss out on AI completely. But hey, if it’s things like Writing Tools you are interested in, you can get the same thing by simply using third-party options such as ChatGPT, Meta AI, Gemini and more.

Where Apple falls short to deliver something, third-party apps and services always bridge the gap somehow. And given how great AI has gotten over the past few months, there are a ton of options to choose from, you’re not just limited to Apple Intelligence.

I am expecting macOS Sequoia 15.1 to be released in October. If I’m to take a guess, the final release some time before the launch of new M4 Macs makes a lot of sense. But hey, we don’t know Apple’s plan at all for the next couple of months. Who knows Apple might just surprise us with an earlier release instead, right?

I really hope it does.
