According to tests done on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple’s new 6.9-inch smartphone is a battery life champion.
Tests Show the iPhone 16 Pro Max is a Battery Life Champion Even with a 4685mAh Battery Inside
iPhones have mostly been great when it comes to battery life. The standby times are insane compared to the competition. However, the new iPhone 16 lineup has a huge advantage over the iPhone 15 – increased battery capacity.
Last year, the iPhone 15, especially the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max had amazing battery life. With new tests done by Tom’s Guide, it seems as though we might have to rethink what great battery life is. I say this because the iPhone 16 Pro Max is so good, it even puts the second place winner, which already has great battery life, in a strange place.
I’m not going to dive into the specifics of the test itself, but I will tell you that the iPhone 16 Pro Max lasted 18 hours and 6 minutes until the phone turned off. On second place was the OnePlus 12 that lasted 17 hours and 37 minutes.
The difference doesn’t seem like much, right?
Let me tell you why the second place didn’t do that well compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Because, the OnePlus 12 has a 5400mAh battery compared to iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 4685mAh. In other words, the iPhone managed to deliver more battery life with a way smaller battery itself, thanks to proper software optimizations and the A18 Pro chip doing its magic.
If your goal is to buy a phone that keeps you away from a wall charger, then you should go for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, nothing else. Though the iPhone 16 Plus is a great choice, too. But, this test shows exactly where you should spend your money.
