The new AirPods Pro 2 hearing aid feature won’t be available in every country next week, do keep that in mind.
Apple’s Hearing Health Feature Which Turns AirPods Pro 2 into a Hearing Aid Won’t be Available Everywhere
A breakthrough AirPods Pro 2 feature is coming next week as a free software update. Once installed, Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro earbuds can be used as a clinical-grade hearing aid.
While Apple has been talking about this feature a lot, there is one thing everyone should know right away – it won’t be available outside of the United States and Canada, at least at launch.
The thing is, the AirPods Pro 2 needs necessary approvals before it can be used as a hearing aid. At the time of writing, that approval only exists in the United States and Canada.
Currently, no-one has any idea regarding Apple’s future plans when it comes to Hearing Health. But, I’m sure Apple is working to bring the new AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Health features to more people around the world.
The way this feature works is absolutely amazing. Once Hearing Health is live next week, you can take a hearing test right on your iPhone and AirPods Pro 2. The results are instant and your iPhone will tell you how much hearing loss you have, if there is any.
Once that is out of the way, the AirPods Pro will adjust the volume of the speakers and microphones, allowing you to hear everything as clearly as possible. Even if you’re at a concert the AirPods Pro will keep on adjusting the volume to make sure everything sounds as natural as possible.
When iOS 18.1 is released next week, you can start using these features immediately as long as you live in the United States and Canada.
