Separate from the App Store, Apple is working on a dedicated place for everything gaming.

Apple is Moving Gaming Away from the App Store to its Own Dedicated Store Along with Game Center

According to information shared by 9to5Mac, Apple is set to move gaming away to a dedicated App Store-like hub. It will be a place that “combines functionality from the App Store and Game Center in one place.”

Though information is sort of sparse at this point, but what has been shared paints a great picture of what we can expect from this new and dedicated ‘game store.’ For example, there will be a ‘Play Now’ tab that will be a home for editorial content and a place where you’ll find all your game suggestions.

What about Apple Arcade? Well, it is going to be a part of the new game store, too. Which makes perfect sense.

Special gaming events, leaderboards, achievements and other important updates will be found right here in the game store. This means you don’t have to find anything related to gaming to the App Store and nothing will be lost that could be of potential interest to you once the game store is live.

Currently, it’s unknown whether or not the new game store will be a part of iOS 18 or will be released next year with iOS 19. But, given how much resources Apple has put into Apple Intelligence, I’m sure the company is going to release it some time next year.
