Those who are anxiously waiting for iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 will be pleased to learn that the updates will be released in December.
iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 Arriving in First Week of December with Image Playground, Genmoji and Tons of Other Features
Though I have already touched upon this a few days ago, a new report by Bloomberg has also weighed in today, saying Apple’s latest updates with more Apple Intelligence features will drop in the first week of December.
These updates include the more powerful Siri with support for ChatGPT. You will also be able to generate images on devices using features like Image Playground and Genmoji. And of course, there are going to be plenty of other improvements, including the new Mail app.
The report goes further by saying Apple is going to release iOS 18.3 sometime at the end of this year or early next year. This is going to be a bug fix release only.
However, Apple won’t be done with iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 – Apple will release iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 with more Apple Intelligence features sometime in March or maybe even April.
Currently, iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 are available as a developer beta for compatible devices only. Those iPhones and iPads that do not support Apple Intelligence features won’t be able to test out the new features at all.
Though you do have the option to take the beta for a spin, I will not recommend it one bit. At the time of writing, the beta is a buggy mess.
From dropped frames to iPhones and iPads slowing down to a crawl, I will not recommend investing yourself in this sort of trouble, unless you have a spare device lying around exactly for this purpose.
If you don’t, then it’s best to wait this one out until a couple of more betas are available for download. I’m expecting a new one to be released this week with a bunch of bug fixes.
